Hostel Accommodation

Males and females will be in separate quarters where possible. We do not encourage criminal activity - rape, abduction, robbery, etc.

 

Renting or Subletting Hostel Facilities
Students are forbidden to rent out or sublet hostel facilities to other students or non-students.


Visitors to Hostels
Men’s hostels are out of bounds to women, and women’s hostels are out of bounds to men. Visitors to Hostels are allowed between 12 noon and 9.00pm.

Only female visitors will be allowed into the female hostels, and only male visitors are allowed into male hostels. No male visitor is allowed inside the female hostel rooms. The same applies to the men’s hostels. All visitors shall be received at designated reception areas only.

 

Admission to Hostels
Semester dates are announced on University College notices. Students must come into residence on the first day of semester, unless special permission has been granted by the V. P. Student Affairs.
Room allocation is on first come first served basis. The hostel fee must be paid in full at the accounts office and registration procedures followed at the VP-Student Affairs office before proceeding to the hostel.


A student will be required to sign an inventory of the furniture and fittings in his/her cubicle and will be accountable for them at the end of each session.
Hostels will be opened from 6:00am to 11:00pm. No student is expected to be out of his/her hostel between 11:00pm and 6.00am unless he/she has been given an exit by a person so authorized.

 

Persons at ANU Hostel will be charged for the summer if keys are not turned in over summer holiday/break. Those who wish to stay over summer will be required to pay 1/2 of the regular semester fees.
Persons who have not paid their Hostel fees will not be allowed to write exams/or grades will be withheld.

 

Use of Appliances
Use of Gas stoves and gas tanks are allowed in newly provided kitchen area of the ANUC Hostel.


Vacation Accommodation
A student wishing to continue to be in residence during vacation must obtain permission to do so from the VP-Student Affairs before the end of the semester.
Vacation accommodation will be charged for at the prevailing rates and must be paid for in advance by the students. The University College will not be responsible for property left at the hostel during vacation.


Students who require housing accommodations during the summer at the ANUC hostel will be asked to pay 1/2 of the regular semester rate. (This may apply, with agreement from managers of the various other ANUC approved Hostels) Persons who have not paid their Hostel fees will not be allowed to write exams/or grades will be withheld.


Use of Cubicles

The University College accepts no responsibility for the property of students. A student who loses the key to his/her cubicle shall pay for its replacement. Students who take away their keys on vacation will be charged a perdiem (daily) fee until the key is returned.

Students Representative Council (S.R.C)

Students are encouraged to participate in Students’ Union
activities. The students’ Union is directed by the University
College Administration through the Students’ Representative Council (SRC).

Associations and Clubs

Apart from the SRC ANUC encourages associations of students which allows students the freedom of association and to improve on their knowledge and search experiences. There are several student associations on campus.

Sports

ANUC believes the developing a total personality does not only take academics but spiritual, psychological, moral and physical. Physical education and sports in very much encourage by ANUC. The School has various sporting groups.

School's Health Clinic
The University College Clinic has a highly qualified full-time Registered Nurse, Mrs. Rajmohan (B. Sc., M. Sc., RN), to cater to the health needs of students and staff. Sick students may visit the Clinic at any time during its regular office hours.
