General Requirements

Validation of Credentials
At any time during or after a student’s academic career at ANUC, the University College reserves the right to further investigate and validate a student’s entry credentials. Any student who does not satisfy the appropriate admission requirements will be withdrawn from the University College, notwithstanding and in spite of progress made in the course meanwhile. The University College also reserves the right to revoke certificates of graduated students, if at any time it finds reason to believe that the student’s entry documents were invalid in the first place.

Identification Card
Every student must acquire an official ANU Identification Card and produce it to persons in authority when requested. The University College ID card is a security document, and must not be transferred from one person to another. Presentation of identification other than your own will be interpreted as
impersonation and is punishable by law. Students must carry their IDs on their persons, and must not use them for purposes other than University-related activities.

Deferral of Admission
A student who has been admitted to the University College may defer commencement of his/her academic programme for up to one year from the original admission date. Longer deferrals are
not allowed. An applicant who wishes to defer for longer than one year must reapply for admission.

Orientation for New Students
Orientation is mandatory for all incoming students. New students are required to attend an orientation programme for introduction to the University College, its facilities and resources for both academic and non-academic work.

The purpose of Orientation may be summarized as follows:
• To welcome new students and help them to adjust and adapt to University life
• To expose new students to facilities available in the University College towards making university education a rewarding experience
• To expose new students to the rules and regulations that govern student life and welfare on the one hand, and academic work on the other hand
• To inform students about their rights and responsibilities, privileges and obligations with respect to fellow students, the University College authorities, statutory bodies, and to themselves.

Matriculation Ceremonies
Matriculation ceremonies are conducted to formally admit new students into the University College. Without matriculation, a student is officially not a bona fide member of the University College. It is mandatory for new students to attend their matriculation ceremony, and to complete all associated forms.

Dress Code for matriculation is black and white. Gentlemen must wear black coloured suits, white shirts, and coloured ties, and ladies must wear black trouser suits or skirt suits (with skirt lengths below the knees). This dress code is mandatory.

Programme Changes
Programme changes require the submission of a Change of Status form. These forms are available from the Office of the Registrar, and must be approved by affected Heads of
Department. These changes include:
• Changes in academic status (e.g. full time / evening /weekend)
• Changes in programme / department
• Changes to degree objective (e.g. single major to double major, major and minor)
• Interruption of study
• Termination of Study
• Students are not allowed to arbitrarily go from regular student to evening or weekend.

Please note that some of these changes MAY require an adjustment in semester placement for the applicant. For example, a change of programme from business Administration to Computer Engineering will most likely require that the student resume studies from Semester one, irrespective of how many semesters the applicant has already completed. Other rules apply.

Please check with your Heads of Department and/or Academic Advisor for guidance on academic changes.

Practical Work / Internship
Practical Work/Internship shall form part of the degree or diploma programmes in all departments of the University College.
Students shall be placed in appropriate institutions or establishments or work places, by designated officers appointed from Faculty.

Practical Work / Internship will take place during the long vacation end of May to August.
As ambassadorial representatives of All Nations University College, students must comport themselves at the work place, with dignity, integrity, honesty, and other exemplary characteristics. They must follow the rules and regulations of the organizations to which they are sent for training, particularly the discipline and schedule of work.
Students who participate in practical work/internship must maintain a journal of daily logs which they will submit with written reports at the end of the Internship programme. Reports shall also be requested from workplace supervisors. Reports will be assessed and graded.

Name Changes
1. Names on previous school certificates will be the only name used during enrollment into ANUC.
2. No changes or additions are allowed unless a female student who gets married or divorced with name changes has provided supporting documents for a legal name change.
3. Degree certificates will bear the names on entry documents or as stated above in item #2 Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Personal Information:
Personal information about students collected by ANUC is used to conduct authorized academic and administrative responsibilities. Students’ personal data is protected by law, and will not be disclosed to third parties without permission from the student, except in cases involving criminal investigations or the legal justice system in forms including but not limited to court summons and subpoenas.
